The shrinkage of SMC mold is different from that of injection mold
There are two kinds of shrinkage of SMC mold. One is that the product is A-level surface with low roughness, and the shrinkage is between - 0.05% and 0%. We often call it negative shrinkage or zero shrinkage. The other is that the surface requirement is relatively loose, and the shrinkage is between 0% and 0.1%.
Temperature system of SMC mould
SMC and BMC molds need heating rather than cooling system. The mold temperature is usually 140 to 160. It is very important to keep the mold temperature consistent when designing the mold. The mold is easier to fill, the product is not easy to deform, and the surface aesthetics is better. The commonly used heating systems are steam, oil, high-pressure water, or electricity.
